Sell your engine-damaged car for cash across South Africa. Free nationwide towing, all paperwork handled, and fast, secure payment with no repair needed.
Selling a car with engine trouble shouldn't be stressful. Skip the lengthy repairs, avoid towing bills, and receive prompt payment with Sell Your Damaged Car.
Engine replacements or major repairs can cost tens of thousands of rand and often exceed the value retained in the car, especially for older vehicles. Instead of pouring money into uncertain repairs or letting your car sit unused, get a fair cash offer and let us handle the logistics.
| Scenario | Average Repair Cost (R) | Typical Value Retained (R) |
|---|---|---|
| Full engine overhaul | 20,000 - 50,000 | 10,000 - 30,000 |
| Used engine swap | 15,000 - 25,000 | 10,000 - 20,000 |
| No repair (as-is sale) | 0 | Offer depends on condition |
Note: Engine damage may result from overheating, lack of oil, seized components, or snapped cambelts - which commonly render cars non-runners. Selling for cash is often the most practical solution for South African owners facing these repair costs.
We simplify the process for anyone from individual Johannesburg car owners to business fleet managers in Cape Town, Pretoria, Durban, and the surrounding regions.
| Type of Engine Damage | Typical Offer Impact | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Complete engine failure | Mid to low | Most value in salvage/parts, less in resale |
| Partial or repairable damage | Moderate | Some operational value remains |
| Non-running with ancillaries intact | Varies | Parts can increase offer slightly |
Tip: Uploading multiple clear photos, a recent registration certificate, and any repair reports can speed up the offer process and improve transparency.
Once your engine-damaged vehicle is collected, our team manages change of ownership and deregistration with the local licencing authority. Payment is released and typically reflects in your account same-day. Salvageable cars are responsibly processed in line with South African regulations - either dismantled, recycled, or sold within the salvage market.
If your vehicle is under finance, our team can guide you through settlement or process the sale in coordination with your bank. Our process reduces risk, saves time, and eliminates the uncertainty of private sales or scrapyard negotiation.
