Need to sell your accident-damaged diesel bakkie? We buy all makes and conditions, provide free towing, handle paperwork and pay cash-anywhere in South Africa.
Diesel bakkies are workhorses across South Africa - from Johannesburg business fleets to Cape Town contractors and Durban family vehicles. But if your bakkie has been in an accident, is non-running or written off, repair costs, insurance delays, and storage bills add up quickly. Sell Your Damaged Car buys diesel bakkies in any condition for cash, providing a dependable, rapid alternative to lengthy repairs or risky private sales.
With diesel bakkies, accident damage can affect resale value and long-term reliability. Here's a look at how typical repair costs compare to value retained:
| Damage Type | Estimated Repair Cost (R)* | Likely Value Retained (%) |
|---|---|---|
| Front-end collision | R40,000 - R120,000 | 45% - 70% |
| Chassis or suspension | R35,000 - R80,000 | 40% - 60% |
| Engine/gearbox issues | R25,000 - R90,000 | 35% - 60% |
*Figures based on typical diesel bakkie models in 2024. Actual costs and returns may vary depending on make, age, insurer involvement, and market demand.
In many cases, selling your bakkie 'as-is' removes ongoing costs and provides immediate cash flow.
| Damage Type | Impact on Offer* |
|---|---|
| Minor panel dents, running | Low |
| Structural/frame damage | High |
| Engine/gearbox not running | Medium-High |
| Water/fire damage | High |
*Offers reflect current salvage market demand, model popularity, and extent of damage.
