Easily sell your accident-damaged or non-running bakkie anywhere in South Africa. Free collection, paperwork handled, and competitive cash offers for private and fleet owners.
If your bakkie has been in an accident, has mechanical failure, or simply won't start, selling it doesn't have to be stressful. Whether you're a private owner dealing with a write-off or a small business facing unexpected fleet downtime, there's a straightforward way to sell your damaged or non-running bakkie for a competitive cash offer, without the hassle of private sales.
Repairs on accident-damaged or non-running bakkies can be costly. Weighing the cost of fixing versus the current and post-repair value is key. Repairs may not be worthwhile if the value lost is significant or if safety could be compromised. Below is a practical comparison:
| Repair Scenario | Average Cost (R) | Estimated Value After Repair (R) | % Value Retained |
|---|---|---|---|
| Major body + mechanical | 60,000 - 120,000 | 80,000 - 140,000 | 30-60% |
| Minor panel damage | 12,000 - 25,000 | 150,000 - 200,000 | 70-85% |
| Exchange engine/gearbox | 25,000 - 70,000 | 40,000 - 80,000 | 40-75% |
If the required repair costs approach or exceed the value added to your bakkie, consider selling. This is particularly true for older or high-mileage vehicles, or when parts are difficult to source in South Africa.
Sell Your Damaged Car simplifies the process for owners across Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban, and beyond. Here's how it works for accident-damaged and non-running bakkies:
| Damage Type | Impact on Offer | Notes/Considerations |
|---|---|---|
| Major accident (structural) | Significantly reduced | Generally written-off by insurers |
| Engine seizure (non-running) | Reduced | Salvage for spares/parts market |
| Flood/fire damage | Reduced | Detailed disclosure helps accuracy |
| Minor panel/cosmetic | Mild reduction | Quick turnaround possible |
Selling a damaged or non-running bakkie in South Africa comes with certain legal and admin requirements. These include deregistration, proof of ownership, and dealing with vehicles under finance or with insurance write-offs. Sell Your Damaged Car handles the bulk of this admin on your behalf.
Our service covers all major metros and rural regions - so whether your bakkie is in Cape Town's southern suburbs or a Johannesburg industrial area, collection and paperwork are stress-free and included.
After your bakkie is picked up, payment is swiftly processed (with confirmation), and you receive copies of all paperwork. The vehicle is deregistered correctly, and you'll have no further legal responsibility. Many bakkies enter the salvage market for parts or recovery, helping other South Africans keep their vehicles running affordably.
