Need to sell a car with deployed airbags? We buy accident-damaged cars for cash across South Africa. Free towing, paperwork handled, payment on collection.
Airbag deployment after an accident often means costly repairs and potential structural damage, making resale difficult through private buyers or trade-ins. If you're searching for a simple way to sell a car with airbags deployed near you in South Africa, you're not alone. We specialise in buying accident-damaged and non-running vehicles in any condition - including those with deployed airbags - and offer a straightforward process that works for private owners and fleets.
We buy cars with deployed airbags, whether the vehicle is under finance, deregistered, or written off. Here's what makes our service different:
Compare costs before committing to repairs. For many, selling is the simpler and less risky option. See below for an indicative local cost comparison:
| Repair Item | Average Cost (R) | Value Retained (%) |
|---|---|---|
| Airbag Replacement (driver & passenger) | 15,000 - 35,000 | 40-65% |
| Dashboard/Electronics | 7,000 - 20,000 | Additional 10-15% |
| Professional Labour | 4,000 - 10,000 | N/A |
Estimates; actual costs may vary based on make, model, and extent of additional damage. In many cases, repair costs approach or exceed the vehicle's market value, especially for older cars or those with underlying mechanical issues.
Transferring ownership of a car with deployed airbags requires compliance with local regulations. You must:
Our team assists with all paperwork, including deregistration where applicable. This reduces your risk of future liability and ensures a legal transfer.
| Damage Type | Typical Offer Impact |
|---|---|
| Airbag(s) only deployed | Moderate: Salvage value considered, often acceptable |
| Airbag plus structural/frame damage | High: Offer lowered for cost to repair or break up |
| Airbag, electronics and safety system faults | Moderate to High: Electronic repairs can be costly, but vehicle may still be buyable as whole or for spares |
All quotes are vehicle-specific, based on honest photos and information provided.
