Looking for buyers for a fire-damaged car in South Africa? Get a competitive cash offer, free nationwide towing and paperwork assistance - upload details today.
We Buy Fire-Damaged Cars
Any condition accepted - from minor interior fire to engine-bay damage.
Free Nationwide Towing
Collection across Pretoria, Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban and beyond.
Paperwork & Fast Payment
We assist with deregistration and release verified payment after collection.
If your vehicle has fire damage - from engine bay fires to interior or electrical fires - you want a buyer who understands safety, deregistration and salvage demand. Sell Your Damaged Car buys fire-damaged vehicles nationwide, offers a competitive cash offer, arranges free towing and handles the paperwork so owners in Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban and surrounding areas can move on quickly.
Fire damage affects structural, electrical and safety systems in ways that standard private buyers or trade-in processes don’t always account for. Specialist buyers price for repair realities, salvage market demand and legal compliance. Working with a specialist reduces the time, negotiation and logistics for owners who need a fast, low-risk sale.
| Damage type | Typical impact on offer |
|---|---|
| Superficial interior scorch | Lower impact if structural and engine are unaffected |
| Engine bay / wiring fire | Significant reduction - electrical and engine-listed parts affected |
| Full-vehicle fire | Major reduction - often sold for parts or scrap; valuation depends on salvage demand |
To start, Upload vehicle details and photos. Our online form shortens the process so you can receive a competitive cash offer quickly. Learn more about how we work on our About / How it works page.
| Estimated repair range (R) | Typical retained market value |
|---|---|
| R5,000 - R15,000 | High retention if only trim/electrics affected |
| R15,000 - R60,000 | Lower retention; buyers may price as salvage or parts |
| R60,000+ | Often sold for scrap or core value only |
If repair estimates approach or exceed the car’s valuation, selling to a specialist buyer is frequently the more practical option. For owners of non-running vehicles with fire damage, see our guidance on Sell Non-Running Car.
We collect across South Africa - from central Johannesburg yards to Cape Town suburbs and Durban outskirts. Example: a privately owned sedan with an engine-bay fire in Pretoria can be valued, collected and paid for without the owner arranging transport or handling complex paperwork.
Quick note: We provide guidance on deregistration and documentation to close the sale legally in South Africa. If your vehicle is insured, notify your insurer - different insurers treat fire-damaged vehicles differently.
Start by choosing one of the quick actions: Upload vehicle details, receive a competitive cash offer, Confirm collection and get paid fast.

Wondering how we calculate your car’s value? At Sell Your Damaged Car, we look at: Your car’s real condition, its salvage value, and the current market demand. It’s all about honesty, transparency, and fairness — that’s how we determine your offer.
