Selling a non-starting car in Johannesburg? Get an obligation-free cash offer, free local towing and paperwork handled by Sell Your Damaged Car. Upload details now.
We Buy Non-Starters
Turn a non-starting vehicle into cash with an obligation-free offer.
Free Johannesburg Towing
We arrange collection anywhere in Johannesburg at no cost to you.
Paperwork & Fast Payment
We handle transfer/deregistration and release payment quickly after collection.
If your car won't start in Johannesburg - whether due to a broken starter, accident damage, flood, or major mechanical failure - selling it to a specialist buyer can be quicker and less stressful than repairs or private sale. Sell Your Damaged Car buys non-starting and non-running vehicles in any condition and arranges free towing, handles the necessary paperwork, and delivers fast payment.
We buy vehicles that are non-starting, written-off, accident-damaged, flood- or fire-damaged, mechanically failed or otherwise unable to be driven. For details on common non-running scenarios and how we value them, see our Sell Non-Running Car page.
Offers reflect the vehicle's pre-damage market value, extent of non-starting faults, likely salvage demand in Gauteng, and any salvageable parts. We provide transparent, obligation-free offers after you submit details and photos.
We collect from all areas within Johannesburg - including Sandton, Roodepoort, Soweto, Alberton and surrounding suburbs - with free towing. For a full outline of our service and nationwide reach, read our About / How it works page.
Quick note: If your vehicle is still under finance, inform us early - we can work with outstanding balances and help with settlement paperwork to complete transfer where possible.
Selling a non-starting car in Johannesburg typically follows four clear steps: upload vehicle details and photos, receive an obligation-free offer, accept and schedule free collection, then complete paperwork and receive fast payment. Each step is handled to reduce hassle for private owners and small fleets alike.
Photograph intact components (interior, undamaged panels, electronics) separately. Even for non-starting cars, items like wheels, catalytic converters (subject to regulation) and undamaged panels can improve salvage value. Avoid long-term storage - batteries drain and tyres degrade, which can lower offers.
To start the process, upload vehicle details and get your free quote. If you want more context on selling damaged vehicles, our Sell Damaged Cars page explains how different damage types typically affect offers.
After we collect your non-starting car in Johannesburg, we complete transfer and deregistration steps and release payment. Keep copies of sale documents and bank confirmation for your records. If you need help understanding finance settlements or the deregistration timeline, our About / How it works page has further details.
We provide transparent offers and straightforward paperwork to reduce risk. We advise sellers to verify bank payment confirmations and retain signed sale documentation. For peace of mind, compare multiple offers where practical and check buyer credentials.
If you’re ready, Get your free quote and Upload vehicle details now - we’ll respond with an obligation-free offer and arrange collection when you’re ready.

Wondering how we calculate your car’s value? At Sell Your Damaged Car, we look at: Your car’s real condition, its salvage value, and the current market demand. It’s all about honesty, transparency, and fairness — that’s how we determine your offer.
