Learn how Sell Your Damaged Car coordinates vehicle collection, provides real-time schedule updates, and manages paperwork for a hassle-free sale anywhere in South Africa.
After you accept our competitive cash offer for your damaged, non-running, or accident-damaged vehicle, organising collection is the next step to a stress-free sale. At Sell Your Damaged Car, we make scheduling collection across Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban and throughout South Africa quick, transparent, and hassle-free. Here's how our collection process works and how we keep you informed every step of the way.
Note: Weekend and after-hours collections can sometimes be arranged based on driver availability-let us know your needs.
| City/Region | Earliest Typical Pickup | Notice Required |
|---|---|---|
| Johannesburg & Surrounds | Within 24 hours | 1 business day |
| Cape Town & Surrounds | Same or next day | 1 business day |
| Durban / Coastal Regions | Next day | 1-2 business days |
| Other (Rural, Outlying) | 2-3 days | 2+ business days |
Once your collection is booked, you'll receive confirmation via email and SMS. We send proactive updates the afternoon before collection and again when our driver is en route. If there are unforeseen delays-such as traffic, weather, or route changes-you'll be notified immediately and offered alternative time slots where needed.
As part of our free service, Sell Your Damaged Car manages most of the administrative and legal requirements involved in vehicle transfer. This includes:
We'll confirm via email once the title transfer or deregistration is complete, typically within 2-5 business days post-collection.
While missed collections are rare, factors like load-shedding, protest action, or adverse weather can occasionally disrupt schedules, especially in some regions. If this happens, you'll immediately get an update and a revised estimated time of arrival or rescheduling options to suit your needs. All revised bookings remain eligible for free towing and guaranteed fast payment upon successful handover.
| Update Type | When Sent | Content Example |
|---|---|---|
| Confirmation | At time of booking | Booking confirmed for Monday 10am. Please prepare keys and papers. |
| Reminder | Day before pickup | Driver scheduled for 11:00-12:00. Reply if you need to update address. |
| En route | Driver departs | Our truck is on the way. ETA 45 minutes. |
| Delay/reschedule | If plans change | Due to unforeseen delay, new ETA is 14:30. Please confirm this works. |
Our goal is to make scheduling and collection communication as transparent as possible. If you have special timing or access requirements, notify our team and we'll do our utmost to accommodate you across South Africa's diverse locations.
