Need to sell your written-off car in Cape Town? Get a fast, competitive cash offer, free collection across the city, and all paperwork handled by Sell Your Damaged Car.
Dealing with a written-off vehicle after an accident or severe mechanical failure can be overwhelming, especially in busy Cape Town. Mounting repair costs, insurance write-offs, or non-running vehicles often mean time, admin, and money lost. At Sell Your Damaged Car, we specialise in purchasing written-off and accident-damaged vehicles for cash, providing a transparent, stress-free solution for private owners and small business fleets across Cape Town and surrounding Western Cape regions.
A written-off vehicle is one deemed uneconomical to repair by your insurer - commonly due to accident, flood, fire, or structural damage. These cars are not legally roadworthy, and selling them privately can involve red tape, risk, or lowball offers. Professional buyers like Sell Your Damaged Car provide a legitimate route for quick sale and deregistration.
| Scenario | Avg. Repair Cost (R) | Likely Value After Repair (R) | Net Gain/Loss |
|---|---|---|---|
| Major Accident Damage | 60,000+ | 45,000 | -15,000 |
| Engine Replacement | 35,000 | 30,000 | -5,000 |
| Scrap/Parts Only | N/A | Scrap Value | Varies |
As shown above, repair expenses often outweigh a car's post-repair value. Factoring in time without the car, insurance complications, and hassle, selling directly to a reputable buyer can be the smartest move.
We operate throughout the Western Cape - from Bellville and Mitchells Plain to Stellenbosch and Somerset West - with flexible collection times to match your schedule.
| Damage Type | Potential Impact on Offer |
|---|---|
| Structural damage | Moderate/High - offer is based on salvage potential and usable parts |
| Panel/Minor cosmetic | Low - most panels and glass are replaced or used for spares |
| Flood/fire | Variable - mechanical/electrical issues reduce value |
| Non-runner | Typically lower - value comes from scrap and usable parts |
The more accurate information and clear photos you provide in your online submission, the faster and more precisely we can make an offer. Honest disclosure avoids delays and ensures the smoothest sale.
