Accident-damaged VW? Sell your Volkswagen anywhere in SA with free towing, full paperwork support & fast payment. Stress-free process for private or business owners.
If your Volkswagen has suffered an accident, is non-running, or has extensive damage, repairing it can be costly and time-consuming. Instead of draining your finances with uncertain repairs, you can sell your VW in its current condition for immediate cash. At Sell Your Damaged Car, we specialise in taking Volkswagens of all models and years, regardless of the damage, and provide a streamlined, stress-free process with free towing included.
Determining whether to repair or sell your damaged VW can be challenging. Here's a look at typical scenarios:
| Damage Type | Estimated Repair Cost (R) | Value Retained After Repair (%) |
|---|---|---|
| Front/Rear Impact | 15,000 - 80,000 | 60-80%* |
| Mechanical Failure (engine/gearbox) | 25,000 - 100,000 | 50-70% |
| Total Write-off | N/A* | - |
*Repairs may not restore full market value, and insurance records will indicate prior damage.
We've designed a simple, transparent process for South African Volkswagen owners, whether you're in Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban, or a smaller town:
In South Africa, when selling a damaged or accident-written-off VW, the following documentation is typically required:
We handle the transfer of ownership, deregistration, and coordinate with finance houses if applicable. You'll save time and avoid admin stress.
| Damage Description | Example Impact on Offer |
|---|---|
| Minor Panel Damage | Small reduction (resell possible) |
| Severe Structural Damage | Larger reduction (may become salvage only) |
| Non-Runner / Mechanical Fault | Moderate-significant reduction (rebuilt/drivetrain value only) |
No two damaged VWs receive the same offer. Age, mileage, service history, and demand for VW parts play a role in your cash offer. Our process is transparent-you'll see your valuation breakdown and have time to consider.
Post-sale, your Volkswagen may enter the salvage market for parts or specialised repair. Licencing is updated to reflect the transfer and (where applicable) deregistration is handled, keeping you in full legal compliance with South African law.
Need a tow? We got you

Somewhere remote? No problem!
Wondering how we calculate your car’s value? At Sell Your Damaged Car, we look at: Your car’s real condition, its salvage value, and the current market demand. It’s all about honesty, transparency, and fairness — that’s how we determine your offer.
