Selling a salvage automatic car in South Africa? Get a transparent cash offer, free nationwide collection and paperwork handled by Sell Your Damaged Car.
We Buy Salvage Automatics
Any-condition automatic cars - accident, flood, fire or non-running.
Free Nationwide Towing
Collection across South Africa with paperwork assistance.
Paperwork & Fast Payment
We handle deregistration and release quick payment after collection.
If you own a salvage automatic car in South Africa - whether written-off after an accident, flood- or fire-damaged, or returned as a non-running salvage - selling can remove ongoing costs, storage headaches and compliance risk. Sell Your Damaged Car buys salvage vehicles in any condition and provides free towing, admin support and a straightforward cash offer nationwide.
We purchase automatic vehicles listed as salvage, damaged or non-running across major metros (Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban) and surrounding regions. Key factors that affect a salvage automatic car offer include extent of structural damage, gearbox and transmission condition, water or fire damage, and whether the vehicle is still under finance. For guidance on non-running vehicles, see our Sell Non-Running Car page.
Note: Salvage status does not automatically disqualify a vehicle from sale. Many buyers - including salvage specialists and parts resellers - purchase automatic cars for repair, parts or export. Our process is designed to minimise your effort and risk.
| Damage type | Typical impact on offer (qualitative) |
|---|---|
| Minor panel damage (no structural harm) | Lower visual deduction; gearbox and engine condition still key |
| Structural/frame damage | Significant reduction - often sold for parts or salvage yards |
| Flood or water damage | Can seriously affect electricals and transmission - impacts offer materially |
| Fire damage | Major reduction - typically sold for parts or scrap |
For an overview of our services and national reach, visit our homepage. If you want details about selling damaged cars specifically, our Sell Damaged Cars page explains accepted conditions and required photos.
Selling a salvage automatic car with Sell Your Damaged Car follows clear steps: upload vehicle details and photos, receive an obligation-free cash offer, accept if it suits you, and we collect the vehicle with free towing. We manage paperwork (including deregistration assistance) and release payment quickly after collection. For background on our approach and trust signals, read our About / How it works page.
| Repair example (estimate) | Typical retained market value after repair (estimate) |
|---|---|
| Minor panel + mechanical repair (~R10,000) | 40%-70% of pre-damage value, depending on service history and transmission condition |
| Major structural/frame repair (~R50,000+) | Often below 50% - many buyers prefer salvage/parts routes |
Figures above are illustrative estimates for South Africa and will vary by make, model, age and mechanical condition. Use them to decide whether repairing or selling salvage is more practical for your circumstances.
