Sell your non-running, fire-damaged car without a roadworthy certificate. Free nationwide towing, paperwork handled and fast payment from Sell Your Damaged Car.
We Buy Any Condition
Fire-damaged, non-running or no roadworthy - we provide competitive cash offers.
Free Nationwide Towing
Collection anywhere in South Africa - no towing costs for you.
Paperwork & Fast Payment
We assist with deregistration and release payment quickly after collection.
If your car suffered fire damage and won’t start, or you don’t have a roadworthy certificate, you can still sell it for cash. Sell Your Damaged Car buys vehicles in any condition across Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban and surrounding areas, arranging free towing, handling paperwork and providing fast payment once you accept an offer.
Fire-damaged vehicles often have structural, electrical or engine damage that makes repairs costly, time-consuming and sometimes impractical. For private owners and small business fleets, selling a non-running, fire-damaged car without roadworthy paperwork can be the quicker, lower-risk option compared with pursuing repairs or listing the vehicle privately.
Do I need a roadworthy? Not to sell to a salvage buyer - vehicles can be purchased without a roadworthy if they are clearly marked as non-running or fire-damaged. Will you tow from my suburb? Yes: we provide free towing nationwide. To start, use our easy online form for a quick valuation, or learn more about how we buy non-running cars on the Sell Non-Running Car page.
| Damage factor | Typical impact on offer |
|---|---|
| Severe engine or wiring fire | Lower offer due to expensive repairs and safety concerns |
| Surface or engine-bay fire with intact chassis | Moderate offer depending on parts salvageability |
| Non-running but limited fire damage | Higher salvage value, better offer potential |
Notes: offers depend on the vehicle’s make, model, year, mileage and specific condition. Estimates are based on South African salvage market demand and are provided as competitive cash offers rather than repair guarantees.
Our online process is streamlined for owners without roadworthy certificates. Upload vehicle photos and details, receive an obligation-free cash offer, and-if you accept-we coordinate collection and handle the admin. Learn more about our approach on the About / How it works page.
Selling a fire-damaged, non-running car without roadworthy involves a few clear steps: upload details and photos, receive a transparent cash offer, accept if it meets your needs, and schedule collection. We provide free towing and handle paperwork so you don’t have to arrange transport or inspections.
Vehicles under finance: if your car is still financed, inform your lender - settlement or transfer steps may be required before ownership changes. For deregistration and transfer, we guide you through the necessary forms and can assist with documentation to simplify the process for South African owners.
After we collect the vehicle, we complete any agreed paperwork steps and release payment promptly. Payment timing is near-instant after verification and depends on banking processes. We can also help with deregistration guidance so the vehicle is properly recorded as sold in South Africa.
Ready to move forward? Upload your car details and photos to upload vehicle details, accept a cash offer and confirm collection - we’ll handle towing and paperwork so you can get paid fast.
Example scenarios: a Toyota Hilux with engine-bay fire that won’t start, and a late-model hatch with surface fire damage but intact chassis-both can be sold without roadworthy to salvage buyers, with differences in offers reflecting parts value and repair complexity. Offers are expressed as competitive cash amounts and will vary by region (Cape Town, Johannesburg, Durban) and demand.
Need a tow? We got you
Get a cash offer within 24h!
Somewhere remote? No problem!
Wondering how we calculate your car’s value? At Sell Your Damaged Car, we look at: Your car’s real condition, its salvage value, and the current market demand. It’s all about honesty, transparency, and fairness — that’s how we determine your offer.
