Easily sell your non-running car in South Africa. Free nationwide towing, paperwork handled, fast payment, and expert assistance-from Johannesburg to Cape Town and beyond.
Skip the hassle and uncertainty of selling a non-runner. Whether your car stopped on the highway, failed a major repair, or is simply not worth fixing, we collect it anywhere in South Africa and get you paid quickly.
Non-running vehicles tend to lose value faster than running ones, especially after they sit for extended periods. Repair costs in South Africa can run high, with parts availability and labour pricing varying widely. For many owners, selling as-is is a straightforward alternative-saving on ongoing storage, reducing liability, and avoiding stressful private sale processes.
| Repair Type | Typical Cost (R) * | % Value Retained After Sale |
|---|---|---|
| Engine replacement (entry-level sedan) | 40,000-80,000 | 40-55% |
| Transmission repair | 20,000-60,000 | 45-60% |
| Major accident repairs | 50,000+ | Up to 50% |
*Estimated based on typical workshop prices for South Africa (2024). Always get a personalised quote for your vehicle and location.
Our process removes the frustration: no classifieds, no waiting for buyers, no vehicle transport required. Here's how it works, no matter where you are-Johannesburg, Durban, Cape Town or a remote area:
Selling a non-running car involves more than just handing over keys. Documentation and administrative requirements in South Africa include:
| Non-Running Cause | Relative Offer Impact |
|---|---|
| Seized engine (no major accident) | Moderate-major reduction |
| Electrical failure (easy access to parts) | Lower reduction |
| Severe flood/fire damage | Significant reduction |
| Minor mechanical issue (engine turns) | Smaller reduction |
(Actual offer depends on year, model, extent of damage, and market demand-use our online valuation for accuracy.)
Once your non-running car is collected, we handle deregistration if required, ensuring you're no longer liable for licensing or fines. The vehicle then enters the salvage or recycling market where useful parts may be recovered or it's responsibly scrapped in compliance with South African laws. Our team keeps you informed of every step after sale, providing a transparent, trustworthy service.
