Selling an insured write-off in Cape Town? Get a competitive cash offer, free towing across Cape Town, help with paperwork and quick payment from Sell Your Damaged Car.
Insured Write-Offs Accepted
We buy insured write-off vehicles in any condition across Cape Town.
Free Cape Town Towing
Arrange collection from city suburbs and nearby towns at no charge.
We Handle Paperwork
Assistance with deregistration, finance settlements and fast payment.
If your insurer has declared your vehicle an insured write-off (economical or structural), you can still sell it privately or to a specialist buyer. For many Cape Town owners this route avoids the time and expense of repairs while turning a damaged vehicle into usable cash. Specialist buyers, like Sell Your Damaged Car, purchase vehicles in all conditions, handle deregistration and arrange free towing from the Mother City and surrounding suburbs.
A private sale of an insured write-off can be slow, legally complex and may require arranging transport and inspections. Selling to a specialist streamlines the process: you submit vehicle details and photos, receive a transparent offer, accept if it suits you, and the buyer arranges collection and paperwork. For a plain explanation of our approach and what to expect, see our About / How it works page.
| Write-off Type | Typical Offer Impact |
|---|---|
| Economical total loss (repair cost > market value) | Significant reduction vs pre-accident value; depends on parts salvageability |
| Structural/frame damage | Major impact - buyers price for repair complexity and resale options |
| Flood or fire damage | Often lower offers due to electrical and corrosion concerns |
Quick note: Insurers and buyers treat write-offs differently. An insurer’s write-off decision affects repair approval, not whether the vehicle has resale value to specialist buyers.
For owners of non-running or severely damaged vehicles, our Sell Damaged Cars page explains typical documentation and how images speed up an offer.
The process is designed to be fast and low-friction: Upload vehicle details and photos, receive a competitive cash offer, accept if it suits you, and we handle the rest. We arrange free towing in Cape Town, complete paperwork including deregistration where applicable, and release payment promptly after collection.
| Seller step | Typical timeframe |
|---|---|
| Submit form and photos | Under 10 minutes |
| Receive offer | Minutes to a few hours |
| Collection & payment | Usually 24-72 hours after acceptance in Cape Town metro |
Get your free quote and see if our competitive cash offer meets your needs: Get your free quote. If you decide to proceed, confirm collection and we will arrange towing and payment so you can close the chapter quickly.
