Sell your insured hail write-off in SA. Get a transparent cash offer, free nationwide towing, paperwork handled and fast payment from Sell Your Damaged Car.
Insured Hail Write-Offs Accepted
We buy insurer-declared hail write-offs anywhere in South Africa.
Free Towing & Paperwork
We arrange nationwide collection and handle transfer and deregistration.
Fast, Transparent Offers
Upload photos and insurer details to get a competitive cash offer quickly.
If your vehicle has been declared a hail write-off by an insurer, you can sell it privately or to a specialist buyer. Sell Your Damaged Car buys insured hail write-offs across South Africa, offering a straightforward online valuation, free towing and help with transfer and deregistration. We work with private owners and small fleets in Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban and surrounding areas to convert damaged vehicles into cash quickly and with minimal paperwork.
After an insurer declares a hail write-off there are extra steps to return the vehicle to the road (if possible) and costs often outweigh practical value. Selling an insured hail write-off avoids ongoing storage, repair headaches and compliance risks. Our service accepts any condition and simplifies the transfer process so you don’t need to arrange towing or complex paperwork.
We purchase insured hail write-offs, non-running vehicles, accident-damaged cars, flood or fire-damaged cars and salvage titles. Offers are calculated from vehicle data, insurance status, damage extent and current salvage demand in South Africa. A transparent offer is provided once you upload photos and details.
| Damage Type | Typical impact on offer |
|---|---|
| Severe hail (roof, panels) | Moderate reduction - panels and cosmetic repair required; structural checks needed |
| Mechanical damage (non-running) | Larger reduction - depends on engine/driveability status |
| Total loss / written-off | Significant reduction - buyer considers salvage value and parts resale |
Important: Insurer write-off status affects title and repair approvals. Always disclose insurer determination when you sell.
To start the process, upload clear photos and the insurer’s write-off reference via our online form. For details on the steps we follow, see our How it works page. If your vehicle no longer runs after hail damage, our Sell Non-Running Car guide explains what to prepare for valuation and collection.
We recommend providing insurer correspondence or reference numbers at submission to speed verification. For a broad overview of selling damaged cars and options, our Sell Damaged Cars page explains common scenarios and timelines.
Our process is designed to make it simple to sell an insured hail write-off across South Africa. Submit vehicle details and photos, receive a transparent offer, accept if it meets your needs, and we arrange free towing, paperwork handling and payment.
Selling an insured hail write-off may require coordination with the insurer, especially if they retain salvage rights or have paid a claim. We assist with verifying insurer documentation, completing the necessary transfer forms and deregistration. If the vehicle is financed, inform your lender - we can work with lienholders to settle outstanding debt as part of the transaction.
Once the vehicle is collected, we finalize paperwork and release payment. Payment timing is fast but will depend on verification steps; we aim to make payment prompt after all documents are in order. For common next steps and owner responsibilities, check our overview on the About / How it works page.
If you want to sell an insured hail write-off in South Africa, get your free quote today and let us manage collection, paperwork and payment. Choose from these quick actions: Get your free quote, Upload vehicle details, Confirm collection and Get paid fast.
Example: A Cape Town owner with a hail-dented roof and insurer reference uploaded photos and paperwork. After verifying insurer documents and vehicle data, we arranged free towing and completed payment within 5 business days. Timelines vary by insurer coordination and documentation completeness.
