Need to sell a fire-damaged car without a roadworthy certificate? Get a clear cash offer, free nationwide towing, paperwork handled and fast payment across South Africa.
We Buy Fire-Damaged Cars
Any condition accepted - no roadworthy certificate needed.

Nationwide collection and admin help, including deregistration support.
Fast, Transparent Payment
Receive a competitive cash offer and quick payment after collection.
If you need to sell a fire-damaged car without a roadworthy certificate and want the process done fast, Sell Your Damaged Car buys vehicles in any condition across South Africa. We provide an online valuation, transparent offers, free nationwide towing, and fast payment after collection. Whether you’re in Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban or a surrounding area, our service is designed for owners who prefer a straightforward sale over costly repairs.
Fire damage often affects electrics, interiors and structural components that make obtaining a roadworthy certificate difficult or impossible. Repairing to roadworthy standard can be expensive and time-consuming. Selling to a professional buyer avoids repair costs, storage headaches and the logistics of private sale or auctions.
Learn more about how the process works on our About / How it works page. If your car no longer starts after fire damage, our Sell Non-Running Car guide explains required details for a quick valuation.
Quick note: You do not need a roadworthy certificate to get an offer. Offers reflect condition, salvage demand and legal title status. We provide clear guidance if the vehicle is under finance or needs deregistration.
Ready to start? Upload your vehicle details and get an offer on our homepage: Sell Your Damaged Car.
Offers for fire-damaged vehicles vary by the severity and location of damage, the model and year, salvage demand in South Africa, and whether the vehicle is encumbered by finance. Below is a simple table that summarises typical impact on offers by damage type; these are qualitative indicators, not price quotes.
| Damage Type | Typical Offer Impact |
|---|---|
| Cabin / interior fire | Moderate to significant reduction depending on wiring and airbag deployment |
| Engine bay fire | High impact; mechanical and electrical repairs costly |
| External panel scorching | Lower impact if structure and driveline unaffected |
If the car is still financed, most buyers (including us) require settlement details from your finance provider before finalising payment. We can advise on the steps and often coordinate with lenders to make the transfer smooth. We also assist with deregistration and related admin so you don’t have to navigate eNATIS processes alone. For more on selling damaged cars and what to expect, see our Sell Damaged Cars page.
Example: A 2010 sedan with moderate interior fire damage may attract a lower offer than a similar vehicle with only external scorching because wiring and airbags increase repair complexity. Actual offers vary; we assess each vehicle individually and provide an explanation with every quote. All monetary references are illustrative; values and repair estimates in South Africa are shown as R and are indicative ranges only.
Need a tow? We got you
Get a cash offer within 24h!
Somewhere remote? No problem!
Wondering how we calculate your car’s value? At Sell Your Damaged Car, we look at: Your car’s real condition, its salvage value, and the current market demand. It’s all about honesty, transparency, and fairness — that’s how we determine your offer.
