Sell your fire-damaged, non-running bakkie nationwide. Get a transparent cash offer, free towing across South Africa, paperwork handled and fast payment.
We Buy Any Condition
Fire-damaged, non-running or written-off bakkies accepted nationwide.
Free Towing & Paperwork
We arrange collection and assist with deregistration and transfer.
Fast, Transparent Offer
Upload photos and get a competitive cash offer quickly.
If your bakkie suffered fire damage and won’t start, you don’t need to manage costly repairs, parts hunting or private-sale logistics. Sell Your Damaged Car buys fire-damaged and non-running vehicles in any condition and arranges free nationwide collection, paperwork handling (including deregistration where applicable) and fast payment. Our online form lets you upload details and photos, receive a transparent cash offer, and schedule collection if you accept.
Fire-damaged bakkies often have cascading issues - heat damage to engine components, wiring harnesses, airbags, interior trim and structural parts. Repair costs can quickly exceed the post-repair market value. Selling to a specialist avoids repair delays, storage costs and the risk of hidden faults emerging after a rebuild.
Local note: We collect across Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban and surrounding regions with free towing nationwide, and we assist with deregistration and paperwork for South African owners.
| Typical repair scope | Estimated repair cost (R) | Estimated value retained after repair |
|---|---|---|
| Minor interior & panel repairs | R10,000 - R40,000 | 40% - 70% (estimate) |
| Extensive engine/electrical repair | R50,000 - R150,000 | 10% - 40% (estimate) |
| Structural/frame and major rebuild | R80,000+ | Varies; often below total repair cost |
Figures above are South Africa-specific estimates (R) to illustrate why many owners opt to sell a fire-damaged, non-running bakkie to a specialist rather than invest in uncertain, often costly repairs.
| Damage type | Typical impact on offer |
|---|---|
| Engine compartment fire | High impact - affects mechanical and electrical systems |
| Interior/smoke damage | Moderate to high - costly cleaning and component replacement |
| External panel/chassis heat damage | Varies - structural issues reduce offers substantially |
We buy bakkies that are fire-damaged, non-running or written off. Use our quick online form to upload vehicle details and several clear photos (engine bay, cabin, VIN/chassis plate, and damage close-ups). We combine vehicle data with salvage demand in South Africa to produce a transparent, competitive cash offer. Learn more about the process on our About / How it works page.
If your bakkie is non-running, our Sell Non-Running Car guidance explains what photos and information speed up a fair valuation.
1) Upload details and photos on our homepage; include make, model, year, mileage, VIN and clear images of the damage. 2) Receive a competitive cash offer based on condition and salvage demand. 3) Accept the offer, we arrange free towing from your location anywhere in South Africa. 4) We complete paperwork (including deregistration steps where applicable) and issue fast payment once the vehicle is collected.
Start the process by Get your free quote - the online form is quick and secure. If you prefer details on selling damaged vehicles in general, see our Sell Damaged Cars page for common scenarios.
Owners must declare finance or outstanding loans on the vehicle. If the bakkie is still under finance, you’ll need the lender’s consent to sell - we can work with finance houses to settle and transfer where required. For deregistration and change-of-ownership, we assist with the admin to ensure the transfer is correctly recorded. Always keep copies of the ID, vehicle documents and proof of sale for your records.
After you accept the offer we schedule free towing and handle the required paperwork. Payment is released and verified promptly after collection. The vehicle then goes to salvage buyers or dismantlers who specialise in sourcing reusable parts or scrap material - this is standard practice in the South African salvage market.
Need to act fast? Use our online form to upload photos and details, get a transparent, competitive cash offer, and arrange free towing across South Africa. We work with private owners and small business fleets and handle the admin so you can convert a fire-damaged, non-running bakkie into cash without unnecessary delay.
Need a tow? We got you
Get a cash offer within 24h!
Somewhere remote? No problem!
Wondering how we calculate your car’s value? At Sell Your Damaged Car, we look at: Your car’s real condition, its salvage value, and the current market demand. It’s all about honesty, transparency, and fairness — that’s how we determine your offer.
