Sell your dead-battery or non-starting car in Johannesburg. Get a transparent cash offer, free towing across the metro, paperwork handled and fast payment.
We Buy Non-Starting Cars
Dead-battery and non-running vehicles accepted across Johannesburg.
Free Towing & Admin
We arrange free collection and handle paperwork including deregistration assistance.
Fast, Transparent Offers
Upload photos, get an obligation-free cash offer and arrange collection.
If your vehicle won't start because of a dead battery, you don't need to pay for costly towing or repairs first. We buy non-starting and dead-battery cars across Johannesburg and surrounding areas, offering free towing, admin support and a straightforward online valuation.
A dead battery can be a simple fix - or a symptom of wider electrical or mechanical problems. For many owners the fastest route to cash is to sell the vehicle as-is to a specialist buyer. We evaluate each car on make, model, overall condition and local salvage demand, then present a transparent cash offer. Learn more about our approach on the About / How it works page.
Offers reflect the vehicle's market value, repairability, demand for parts and current salvage market conditions in South Africa. We consider the model, year, mileage and photos you provide. If the battery is the only issue and the rest of the car is sound, that will be reflected in the valuation; if there are additional faults we factor those in too. For specialised guidance on non-running vehicles see our Sell Non-Running Car page.
Ready to get started? Get your free quote by uploading a few photos and vehicle details - the form takes under a few minutes.
Once you accept an offer we arrange collection anywhere in the Johannesburg metro and surrounding areas at no cost to you. Our team handles the transfer paperwork, including assistance with deregistration where applicable, and releases near-instant payment after the vehicle is collected and documents are verified. For more detail about damaged vehicles and paperwork options see our Sell Damaged Cars information.
| Condition | Typical impact on offer |
|---|---|
| Only dead battery (rest sound) | Lower impact; offer reflects battery replacement cost and resale demand |
| Dead battery + electrical fault | Medium impact; diagnostics and parts demand considered |
| Dead battery + accident damage | Higher impact; salvage and repairability influence valuation |
In Johannesburg metro areas typical collection is often within 48-72 hours after offer acceptance, though exact timing may vary by suburb and vehicle condition. Paperwork handling and payment verification generally completes shortly after collection; expect a short verification step for ID and title documents. For businesses selling multiple fleet vehicles we can coordinate batch collections and tailored timelines.
What to prepare: clear photos, vehicle registration documents, ID, and bank details for payment. When you’re ready Upload vehicle details, then Confirm collection and Get paid fast.
Specialist buyers remove the hassle of private sale negotiations, towing costs and uncertain timelines. We serve private sellers and small fleets across Johannesburg, Soweto, Sandton, Roodepoort and surrounding suburbs with local knowledge of logistics and salvage demand.
Need a tow? We got you
Get a cash offer within 24h!
Somewhere remote? No problem!
Wondering how we calculate your car’s value? At Sell Your Damaged Car, we look at: Your car’s real condition, its salvage value, and the current market demand. It’s all about honesty, transparency, and fairness — that’s how we determine your offer.
