Whether you are a private owner in Johannesburg, Cape Town or Durban, or manage a small business fleet, our service covers collection, paperwork and payment so you don’t have to manage towing or complex admin.
We provide an online valuation, free nationwide towing, help with deregistration and straightforward paperwork handling - designed to reduce the time and cost of selling a damaged car.
| Service | What we do |
|---|---|
| Online valuation | Obligation-free cash offer based on photos and details |
| Towing | Free collection anywhere in South Africa |
| Paperwork | We assist with transfer and deregistration steps |
| Payment | Fast payment released following collection and verification |
Learn more about the kinds of damaged vehicles we buy on our Sell Damaged Cars page, and read about our company and process on the About / How it works page for full details.
To sell damaged car for cash South Africa owners typically follow four clear steps. First, upload vehicle details and photos using our online form. Our team evaluates the information and returns an obligation-free offer. If you accept, we arrange free nationwide towing and complete the required paperwork. After collection and verification, you receive fast payment.
If your vehicle is still under finance, sales proceeds must normally be used to settle the outstanding finance before ownership transfer. We can work with owners and financiers to assist the settlement process, but any sale remains subject to the financier’s requirements. We also assist with deregistration steps required by South African authorities to ensure a clear transfer of ownership.
Once we collect your vehicle we complete verification and administrative checks. Payment is issued promptly after collection and verification. Vehicles then move into the salvage or parts market depending on condition. For owners who prefer details on selling non-running cars, see our Sell Non-Running Car page for tailored guidance.
| Situation | Typical outcome |
|---|---|
| Written-off by insurer | Can be sold for salvage value; paperwork handled by us |
| Non-running vehicle | Free towing and collection from most locations |
We provide clear, obligation-free offers and handle the practical steps so owners across Cape Town, Johannesburg, Durban and beyond can sell damaged cars for cash in South Africa without the usual logistics and admin stress. Our process reduces risk and saves time compared with private sales or trying to arrange independent towing.

Wondering how we calculate your car’s value? At Sell Your Damaged Car, we look at: Your car’s real condition, its salvage value, and the current market demand. It’s all about honesty, transparency, and fairness — that’s how we determine your offer.
