Sell a car with outstanding settlement in Johannesburg. We coordinate lender settlement, handle paperwork and provide free towing and fast payment across the city.
We Handle Lender Settlement
We liaise with finance houses to settle outstanding balances as part of the sale.
Free Johannesburg Collection
Nationwide towing including pickups across Johannesburg and surrounding suburbs.
Paperwork & Fast Payment
We manage transfer, deregistration and pay any balance to you quickly.
If you need to sell a car with an outstanding settlement in Johannesburg, you likely have questions about lender payoff, transfer paperwork and how much you’ll actually receive after settlement. Sell Your Damaged Car regularly helps South African owners, including those in Johannesburg, to sell vehicles that are still under finance: we provide an online valuation, liaise with finance houses where needed and handle deregistration and collection.
When a vehicle has an outstanding settlement (also called a finance balance), the finance provider retains a real interest in the vehicle until the debt is settled. That means sale proceeds normally need to go toward the lender first. We can buy your car in any condition and work with your lender to clear the settlement as part of the sale so you don’t have to manage multiple calls or trips to the bank.
After you submit vehicle details, our team confirms the offer and, with your permission, contacts the finance house to obtain the exact settlement figure. Once you accept our offer we arrange settlement to the lender and take care of the transfer and deregistration steps. This reduces the administrative burden on you and speeds up collection across Johannesburg and nearby areas.
Learn more about how we operate on our About / How it works page, or if your vehicle isn’t running see our Sell Non-Running Car page for specifics on towing and condition reporting.
| Common finance scenario | Next step we take | Note for sellers in Johannesburg |
|---|---|---|
| Active finance account | Request settlement figure and pay lender from sale proceeds | We liaise with the finance house so you don’t need to visit branches across the city |
| Arrears/partial payments | Confirm balance and include any admin in final settlement | Full transparency on what’s settled on your behalf |
Selling a financed car privately can be time-consuming: buyers may be reluctant to complete transfers, banks require clear settlement records, and arranging towing or paperwork across Johannesburg suburbs adds complexity. We simplify the process by providing a single point of contact, free towing across the city, and assistance with lender settlement and deregistration.
Local note: Whether you’re in Sandton, Soweto, Midrand or Roodepoort, our collection network covers Johannesburg metro and surrounds. If your car is accident-damaged or non-running, see details on our Sell Damaged Cars page for condition-specific guidance.
Get your free quote by visiting our homepage and Upload vehicle details. If you accept, we will Confirm collection and manage lender settlement so you can Get paid fast.
