Sell your gearbox-damaged car in Johannesburg. Get a transparent cash offer, free towing across Gauteng, paperwork handled and fast payment.
Any-Condition Acceptance
We buy gearbox-damaged and non-running cars anywhere in Johannesburg.
Free Towing & Paperwork
Nationwide collection and admin support, including deregistration help.
Fast, Transparent Offers
Upload photos, get a clear cash offer and receive quick payment after collection.
If your vehicle has gearbox failure, slipping gears or won't shift, you don’t have to spend weeks sourcing quotes, arranging tow trucks or paying repair deposits. We buy cars in any condition, provide free towing across Johannesburg and Gauteng, and handle paperwork including deregistration and settlement steps.
Gearbox faults range from minor sensor issues to full transmission failure. For many owners in Johannesburg, repair costs can quickly exceed market value - especially for older models or high-mileage vehicles. Selling the vehicle to a specialist can be faster and lower risk than paying for an expensive rebuild or managing a private sale where buyers request test drives and expensive inspections.
The online process is designed for speed: upload vehicle details and photos, receive a transparent cash offer, accept if it meets your needs, then schedule collection. For a quick start, Get your free quote or see what we buy.
| Gearbox issue | Typical impact on offers |
|---|---|
| Minor sensor / solenoid fault | Lower impact - often repairable at moderate cost |
| Slipping gears / delayed engagement | Medium impact - can require major gearbox work |
| Complete transmission failure / non-running | Higher impact - typically sold for parts or salvage |
Our valuation considers the vehicle’s age, make, model, mileage and the gearbox condition. If your vehicle is under finance, we explain how settlement or payoff is handled during the sale.
Once you accept the cash offer, we confirm collection details for anywhere in Johannesburg - from Sandton and Randburg to Soweto and Roodepoort. Towing is arranged at no cost, and the collection team will bring paperwork to complete the transfer. You can also choose to upload your details and photos now with the Upload vehicle details option to speed things up.
Private buyers often avoid vehicles with gearbox problems and towing costs can erode sale proceeds. Selling to a specialist reduces time on market, eliminates towing expenses, and removes the negotiation stress. For more on our approach and service areas, read about our process on the About / How it works page or check options for non-running vehicles at Sell Non-Running Car.
| Seller action | What we do |
|---|---|
| Submit details & photos | Provide an obligation-free cash offer |
| Accept offer | Arrange free towing and handle paperwork |
| Collection & handover | We collect and release payment promptly |
Typical timeline in Johannesburg: submit (minutes), receive an offer (usually same day), schedule collection (1-7 days depending on location) and payment released after collection verification. Timelines may vary for vehicles under finance or with complex paperwork.
Start by getting your fast quote: Get your free quote. Upload photos and basic details to receive a transparent offer and, if you accept, we arrange towing and payment so you can move on quickly.
Need a tow? We got you
Get a cash offer within 24h!
Somewhere remote? No problem!
Wondering how we calculate your car’s value? At Sell Your Damaged Car, we look at: Your car’s real condition, its salvage value, and the current market demand. It’s all about honesty, transparency, and fairness — that’s how we determine your offer.
