Sell your broken-down or non-running car for cash across South Africa. Free towing, paperwork handled, and fast payment. Upload details for a quick quote.
We Buy Any Condition
Broken down, accident-damaged or written-off vehicles accepted nationwide.
Free Towing & Paperwork
We arrange collection, handle admin and support deregistration.
Fast, Transparent Payment
Receive a competitive cash offer and fast payment after collection.
If your vehicle won’t start, has major mechanical failure or has been written off after an incident, selling it to a specialist buyer can save time and expense. Sell Your Damaged Car buys broken-down, non-running and accident-damaged vehicles in any condition, offers free nationwide towing, handles paperwork (including deregistration where applicable) and issues fast payment after collection. For a rapid quote, Get your free quote or use the quick upload form on our homepage.
We purchase vehicles with mechanical failure, seized engines, transmission faults, electrical faults, accident damage, flood or fire damage, and written-off cars. For details on non-running vehicles see our Sell Non-Running Car page.
Private buyers typically expect a running vehicle and will factor in towing costs, repair uncertainty and risk - often resulting in low offers or no sale. A specialist buyer accepts condition, organises towing and manages the admin so you avoid repeated viewings, negotiation headaches and transport coordination.
| Repair cost (estimate) | Typical value retained if repaired |
|---|---|
| Minor engine repair (R5,000-R15,000) | Partial recovery; may not justify outlay on older cars |
| Major engine/transmission (R20,000+) | Often exceeds residual value for older vehicles |
Note: figures are illustrative estimates in South African R (R) and depend on vehicle age, model and market demand. If repair costs approach or exceed the market value, selling as-is to a specialist is usually more practical.
Learn more about what we buy on our Sell Damaged Cars page, or read how our process works on the About / How it works section.
1) Upload vehicle details and photos using the quick form on our homepage. 2) We return a competitive cash offer based on make, model, year, condition and salvage demand. 3) Accept the offer and choose a collection time - we arrange free nationwide towing. 4) We complete the paperwork (including deregistration support where required) and release payment promptly after collection.
| Damage type | Typical offer impact |
|---|---|
| Mechanical failure (non-running) | Reduced offer versus running vehicle; accepted if repair cost is high |
| Accident written-off | Valuation depends on structural damage and parts value |
| Flood or fire damage | Significant impact; accepted by buyers with salvage channels |
Typical timeline in South Africa: submit details (under 5 minutes), receive an offer (often within hours), schedule collection (within 24-72 hours in most metros), collection and payment shortly after pick-up. Times vary in remote locations.
Ready to move forward? Upload vehicle details, accept the offer, Confirm collection and Get paid fast. Our team serves Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban and nationwide locations and handles the logistics so you don’t have to.
We aim for transparent offers and low-risk transactions. If your vehicle is under finance, we explain lender steps upfront. For more on how we buy non-running cars see our Sell Non-Running Car page. If you want the process outline, visit our About / How it works page for full details.
Need a tow? We got you
Get a cash offer within 24h!
Somewhere remote? No problem!
Wondering how we calculate your car’s value? At Sell Your Damaged Car, we look at: Your car’s real condition, its salvage value, and the current market demand. It’s all about honesty, transparency, and fairness — that’s how we determine your offer.
