Looking for a scrap yard that buys cars in South Africa? Get a transparent cash offer, free nationwide towing and paperwork assistance - upload details now.
Any Condition Accepted
We buy accident-damaged, non-running or written-off vehicles across SA.
Free Nationwide Towing
Collection arranged from Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban and beyond at no cost.
Paperwork & Fast Payment
We assist with transfer/deregistration and release payment after collection.
If your vehicle is accident-damaged, written off, flood-affected, fire-damaged, or simply non-running, turning it into cash through a trusted buyer saves time, cost and headache. Sell Your Damaged Car purchases vehicles in any condition and provides free nationwide towing, paperwork assistance (including deregistration) and quick payment. We serve private owners and small fleets in Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban and surrounding regions.
Reputable buyers provide a documented offer, handle transfer/deregistration where possible, and offer secure payment. Informal scrap yards may offer quick cash but lack paperwork support and traceability - increasing risk for the seller. For details on our process and policies, see How it works and our nationwide service overview.
| Vehicle condition | Typical impact on offer |
|---|---|
| Non-running / mechanical failure | Moderate reduction depending on parts value and towability |
| Accident-damaged / written-off | Higher reduction; salvageable parts and shell condition matter |
| Flood or fire damage | Significant reduction due to electrical and structural risks |
We base offers on vehicle details, photos and current salvage demand. For quick help with cars that will not start, see our Sell Non-Running Car guidance which explains what photos and information speed up valuation.
Quick practical note: Always disclose outstanding finance. Vehicles under finance can be sold, but proceeds are usually used to settle the lender - we help by liaising with finance houses where required.
We make selling like a modern scrap yard experience: upload basic vehicle details and photos, receive a transparent cash offer, accept if suitable, and we arrange free towing and paperwork. The typical flow is:
| Service inclusion | What to expect |
|---|---|
| Free nationwide towing | Collection arranged from your address at no extra cost |
| Paperwork assistance | We help complete transfer/deregistration forms and provide receipts for your records |
| Fast payment | Funds are released after collection and verification |
We operate across major centres - Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban - and outlying areas. Fleet owners with multiple vehicles benefit from consolidated collection and a single set of documents per sale. If your vehicle is listed as written off by an insurer, declare this information up front to ensure a smooth valuation. For information about selling accident-damaged vehicles and expected timelines, see our Sell Damaged Cars page.
