Need to scrap a vehicle in South Africa? Get a competitive cash offer, free nationwide towing, paperwork handled and fast payment - upload details now.
Any-Condition Purchases
We buy scrap and written-off vehicles across South Africa.
Free Nationwide Towing
Collection from Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban and beyond at no cost.
Paperwork & Fast Payment
We handle deregistration and release payment quickly after collection.
If your car is written off, non-running, fire- or flood-damaged, or simply too costly to repair, selling it for scrap is a practical option. Sell Your Damaged Car buys scrap vehicles across South Africa - Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban and surrounding areas - and provides a fast, transparent process with free collection and paperwork support. Our online assessment gives you a competitive cash offer so you can decide without delay.
Quick process overview: upload photos and details, get an online offer, accept if it meets your needs, we collect and handle the admin, then pay you. Start by choosing to Get your free quote or Upload vehicle details for a quick appraisal.
Offers depend on vehicle make, model, year, overall condition, salvageable parts demand and current scrap metal prices in South Africa. We assess market factors and the vehicle's condition to provide a competitive cash offer rather than an arbitrary figure.
| Common Scrap Reason | Typical Impact on Offer |
|---|---|
| Total accident / written-off | Lower vehicle value but parts and metal salvage can still generate a fair cash offer |
| Non-running / seized engine | Reduced offer vs running cars, but recovery of components offsets some loss |
| Flood or fire damage | Major electrical or body damage lowers retail value; scrap buyers price for salvageable parts and metal |
If you want more detail about selling a non-running vehicle, see our Sell Non-Running Car page. Learn about our company and the process on our About / How it works page.
The process is designed to be simple and quick: submit vehicle details and photos, receive an obligation-free offer, accept if it suits you, then confirm collection. Our team arranges free towing and handles the paperwork so you don’t have to manage deregistration or transport logistics.
If your vehicle still has a finance balance, inform us during submission. We provide guidance on settling the outstanding amount with the lender and can coordinate a secure payment path so the lender receives what’s due and you receive any remaining balance. This avoids delays in deregistration and transfer.
| Service Included | How it helps you |
|---|---|
| Free towing nationwide | No cost or hassle arranging transport from Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban or remote areas |
| Paperwork assistance | We help with transfer and deregistration to reduce your admin burden |
| Fast payment | Cash is released promptly after collection and verification |
Ready to proceed? Use the homepage to Upload vehicle details, accept an offer and Confirm collection. We serve all major South African metros and surrounding areas, including Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban.
Need a tow? We got you
Get a cash offer within 24h!
Somewhere remote? No problem!
Wondering how we calculate your car’s value? At Sell Your Damaged Car, we look at: Your car’s real condition, its salvage value, and the current market demand. It’s all about honesty, transparency, and fairness — that’s how we determine your offer.
