Sell a salvage, written-off or non-running private car in South Africa. Get a transparent cash offer, free nationwide towing, paperwork handled and fast payment.
Any-Condition Purchases
We buy private cars that are accident-damaged, non-running or written off.
Free Nationwide Towing
Collection arranged across South Africa at no cost to the seller.
Paperwork & Fast Payment
We assist with deregistration/transfer and release payment after collection.
Private car owners with salvage, accident-damaged, flood-affected or non-running vehicles often face logistical and administrative hurdles when selling. Private car salvage buyer services specialise in buying vehicles in any condition, offering a streamlined alternative: upload vehicle details and photos, receive a competitive cash offer, accept if suitable, and let the buyer arrange free towing, paperwork and payment. Sell Your Damaged Car operates nationwide, serving Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban and surrounding regions.
Specialist buyers handle the complexity of salvage sales: valuation against current market salvage demand, recovery logistics, and admin such as deregistration or transfer of ownership. This reduces time, risk and out-of-pocket costs. For an explanation of our full step-by-step approach, see our About / How it works page.
Services accept a wide range of private vehicles: compact cars, sedans, SUVs, and light vehicles used for personal transport that are accident-damaged, have severe mechanical failure, are non-running, or have been declared write-offs by insurers. For specific non-running scenarios, you can review our guidance on selling a non-running car at Sell Non-Running Car.
Offers are calculated from the vehicle’s pre-incident market value, the severity and type of damage, current salvage demand (parts/materials), and transport costs to recovery yards. Because each car is different, quotes are transparent but condition-dependent and may vary between buyers.
| Feature | Benefit |
|---|---|
| Free towing | No transport cost or logistics for the seller. |
| Paperwork handling | Assistance with deregistration and ownership transfer reduces admin time. |
| Fast payment | Payment released promptly following collection and verification. |
If you want to see how salvage-specific considerations affect offers for damaged private cars, our Sell Damaged Cars page explains common damage types and valuation impacts.
The process is designed for speed and clarity. Typical steps include:
Most reputable salvage buyers include free towing, paperwork support (including deregistration guidance), and fast payment. Exclusions or delays can arise for vehicles under finance; if a vehicle has outstanding finance, the settlement of that debt is required before full transfer of ownership. Always disclose finance status up front to avoid delays.
After collection the buyer completes verification and handles transfer or deregistration steps. Payment is typically released soon after collection once identity and vehicle details are confirmed. If you want to begin, you can Get your free quote or choose to Upload vehicle details now to receive an offer.
In metros such as Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban there is steady demand for salvage parts, which can improve offers for certain models. In remote areas, logistics may affect timelines but reputable buyers cover nationwide collection. If you manage a small fleet, consolidating multiple salvage vehicles into one collection can reduce admin and speed payment cycles.

Wondering how we calculate your car’s value? At Sell Your Damaged Car, we look at: Your car’s real condition, its salvage value, and the current market demand. It’s all about honesty, transparency, and fairness — that’s how we determine your offer.
