Need to settle finance on a non-running car? Get a transparent cash offer, lender settlement guidance, free towing and fast payment across South Africa.
Finance Settlement Support
We guide lender coordination and settlement paperwork for financed non-runners.
Free Nationwide Towing
Collection from Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban and beyond at no charge.
Fast, Transparent Offers
Upload photos, get a competitive cash offer and clear next steps.
If your vehicle doesn’t start and there’s an outstanding finance balance, you still have options. Sell Your Damaged Car specialises in helping South African owners convert non-running vehicles into a competitive cash offer and manage finance settlement, paperwork and collection nationwide.
A non-runner car with finance requires coordination between the seller, the finance holder (lender), and the buyer. We provide an end-to-end process: valuation, lender liaison guidance, free towing, paperwork support including deregistration, and fast payment once finance is settled. Use our simple online form to start and get your free quote.
Most transactions must clear the lender’s lien before a clean transfer can occur. We explain the documentation lenders usually require and provide support so you can present a clear settlement plan. For many customers this reduces delays and prevents unexpected repossession costs.
| Route | What it involves | Typical benefit |
|---|---|---|
| Sell to a specialist | One buyer handles valuation, lender clearance guidance and collection. | Faster closure and free towing nationwide. |
| Private sale with lender | Buyer pays lender directly or seller arranges settlement before transfer. | Potentially higher net if sale price covers finance and costs, but slower. |
If you want a focused pathway for a non-runner car with finance, start at our dedicated page for non-running vehicles: Sell Non-Running Car. That page explains the documentation we ask for and the kind of photos that speed up valuation.
The typical flow for a non-runner car with finance looks like this:
| Scenario | How we help |
|---|---|
| Shortfall after sale | We explain lender settlement steps and provide documentation to support payout discussions. |
| Lender requires payoff letter | We advise on obtaining a payoff figure and coordinate timing of collection with settlement. |
Examples from South African practice: obtaining a lender payoff figure commonly takes 24-72 hours depending on the finance house. Any amounts discussed with your lender will be shown as R values on official payoff letters; these figures are estimates until the lender issues a formal settlement amount.
For more about selling accident-damaged or written-off vehicles, see our Sell Damaged Cars page. To understand our company processes and trust signals, read our About & How it works summary.
Nationwide support: We collect across South Africa - Cape Town, Johannesburg, Durban and surrounding regions - and handle deregistration guidance. If the vehicle is under finance, we prioritise clear communication with your lender to speed settlement and transfer.
Start by uploading your vehicle details and photos to receive a competitive cash offer and an outline of the finance-settlement process. Visit our homepage to Get your free quote or head straight to the non-runner form at Sell Non-Running Car.
