Need to sell a non-running car? Receive a prompt cash offer, enjoy free nationwide towing and have all paperwork handled by South Africa's specialist service.
If your car no longer starts or suffers from major mechanical faults, you're not alone. Across Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban and beyond, countless South Africans face non-running cars due to accident damage, engine failure, or years of wear. Rather than sinking more money into uncertain repairs or struggling to find a willing private buyer, you can get a cash offer for your non-running car in just a few steps.
Before investing further in repairs, compare the real costs and value:
| Repair Scenario | Estimated Cost (R) | Value Added (R) | Net Impact (R) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Replace Engine | 40,000 | 20,000 | -20,000 |
| Major Transmission Repair | 25,000 | 10,000 | -15,000 |
| Sell As-Is | 0 | Cash offer received | No extra expense |
In many cases, repair costs exceed the additional resale value. Selling your non-running car for a cash offer is often the smarter choice - especially if you factor in time, hassle, and logistics.
At Sell Your Damaged Car, you only need to:
No advertising, no haggling, no worrying about arranging transportation or legal paperwork - we handle everything including deregistration and settlement for vehicles under finance (where applicable).
| Type of Non-Running Issue | Typical Offer Impact | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Engine Failure | Moderate to Significant | Depends on demand for parts and overall condition. |
| Electrical/Electronic Issues | Moderate | Salvage value and repair likelihood affect price. |
| Accident or Body Damage | Varies | Largely depends on severity and make/model. |
| Written-Off | Usually Lower | Insurance status and part value considered. |
Selling a non-running car in South Africa requires compliance with legal and administrative processes - including deregistration with your local licensing authority. We support you with:
Our trusted service keeps you compliant and shields you from scams or unqualified buyers who may leave you liable for future issues. Sell Your Damaged Car As-Is for Cash
