If your car is broken, written off, flood- or fire-damaged, arranging transport can be the biggest obstacle to selling. Free towing removes that barrier so you can convert a problem vehicle into cash without paying for haulage, time-consuming logistics or risky private collections. Sell Your Damaged Car buys vehicles in any condition and includes free towing nationwide, paperwork management and fast payment.
Towing costs, recovery delays and coordinating collection with buyers are common reasons sellers abandon private sales. Free towing simplifies the process and reduces out-of-pocket cost. Our nationwide collection covers major metros and outlying areas, including Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban, and works the same for private owners and small-fleet operators.
To learn more about the overall process and how we handle admin, see our About / How it works page. If your vehicle won’t start, our specialist steps are detailed on the Sell Non-Running Car page.
Note: offers depend on vehicle data, condition and salvage demand. Towing is arranged after offer acceptance and subject to standard collection scheduling in your area.
| Option | Typical seller cost/time | Complexity |
|---|---|---|
| Sell with free towing (dealer/buyer service) | No towing cost; faster sale (days) | Low - buyer arranges collection and paperwork |
| Private sale (seller arranges tow) | R500-R2,000+ depending on distance and complexity | High - coordination, security and admin burden |
After you submit vehicle details and photos, we return a competitive cash offer. If you accept, we arrange a collection time that suits you. Our team completes the required paperwork and arranges towing at no charge. Payment is released and verified shortly after collection.
| Damage type | Typical effect on offer |
|---|---|
| Collision structural | Offer reduced due to repair cost and salvage value |
| Mechanical failure/non-running | Varies by engine/gearbox condition; free towing helps sellers avoid repair costs |
| Flood or fire damage | Significantly affects offer; salvors specialised in these conditions |
If your vehicle is still under finance, you will typically need a settlement figure from your lender before transfer. We guide sellers through this and can coordinate with lenders when required. We also assist with deregistration steps to ensure a clean transfer where possible under South African regulations. See our Sell Damaged Cars page for more on condition types and documentation.
