Paperwork handled
We assist with deregistration and finance settlement where needed.
Fast, secure payment
Accept your offer and receive verified payment after collection.
If your vehicle is damaged, non-running, flood-affected or written off in Durban (eThekwini) and you want a simple way to convert it to cash, an easy scrap car sale removes the usual hassles: towing, negotiating, and paperwork. Sell Your Damaged Car buys cars in any condition across KwaZulu-Natal and nationwide, offering free towing, help with deregistration and fast payment after collection.
Selling a scrap car locally reduces storage costs and the risk of further deterioration. For many Durban sellers, a quick online valuation and arranged collection is more time- and cost-effective than arranging private towing or dealing with scrap yards. We handle the admin, including deregistration where required, and collect from suburbs across Durban and surrounding towns.
Learn more about how our service works and the step-by-step process on the About / How it works page. If your car is non-running, our dedicated page explains specific options for immobile vehicles: Sell Non-Running Car.
| Damage type | Typical impact on offer |
|---|---|
| Total loss / written-off | Lower offer due to salvage status; meets scrap market demand. |
| Mechanical failure / seized engine | Value depends on usable parts and market demand. |
| Flood or fire damage | Often classed as salvage; accepted but affects valuation. |
Offers are determined by vehicle data, photos and current salvage demand - not every car of the same model receives the same quote. For region-specific information, see our Sell Damaged Cars page which outlines accepted conditions and documentation.
Start with the online form on our homepage to upload vehicle details and photos. Typical turnaround for an initial offer is fast; once you accept, we arrange free towing from your Durban address and complete the necessary paperwork - including deregistration where applicable - before payment is released.
Day 0: Upload details and photos. Day 0-1: Receive an obligation-free offer. Day 1-3: Accept offer and schedule collection. Day 3-5: We collect, handle admin and release payment. Timelines vary by location and documentation; this is a representative example for eThekwini suburbs.
SA-specific note: Vehicles under finance can still be sold, but settlement with the finance house is required as part of the paperwork. We guide Durban sellers through this process and liaise where needed to complete deregistration and transfer steps.
After you confirm collection, we coordinate a convenient pickup time in Durban. Our team handles the paperwork and once the vehicle is verified at collection, payment is made promptly. To begin, get your free quote, then choose a collection slot to confirm collection and receive get paid fast.
We follow transparent valuation practices and verify vehicle details at collection. For sellers in Durban who want to avoid scams, consider checking buyer credentials and insist on clear payment verification. Our process minimises risk by arranging collection, handling admin and paying into your nominated bank account after verification.
