Need to sell a fire-damaged car fast in 2025? Get a quick, competitive cash offer, free SA-wide towing, and paperwork handled by trusted experts. Reliable, hassle-free process.
A car fire can be traumatic and often leaves owners with complicated decisions-repair, scrap, or sell? In 2025, rising repair costs and insurance exclusions mean selling a fire-damaged car is often the fastest, most practical solution. Sell Your Damaged Car specialises in buying vehicles affected by fire-whether minor interior burns or total write-offs-anywhere in South Africa, including Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban and beyond. Our streamlined online process cuts through red tape, letting you upload details and images for a fast, competitive cash offer. We handle towing and paperwork, including SA-specific requirements like deregistration.
Should you sink money into repairs, or is it smarter to sell your fire-damaged car as-is? In most cases, fire-related damage-especially engine or electrical burns-rapidly decreases the car's value and makes repairs cost-prohibitive.
| Repair Level | Typical Cost (2025 Rands) | Value Retained (%) |
|---|---|---|
| Minor interior burn | R10,000 - R25,000 | 60-70% |
| Engine/firewall affected | R30,000 - R80,000 | 30-40% |
| Severe/total loss | R90,000+ | 10-25% |
| Damage Type | Typical Offer Impact |
|---|---|
| Dashboard/interior only | Modest reduction, salvage value higher |
| Engine compartment burns | Significant reduction, parts value considered |
| Full structural/total loss | Heaviest reduction, based on scrap value |
Each fire-damaged car is appraised individually, so clear photos and honest descriptions help maximise your quote. Transparency is key for a smooth transaction.
Legally selling a fire-damaged car in South Africa involves unique steps, especially if your car is a total loss or still under finance. Sell Your Damaged Car streamlines the process and helps owners avoid common pitfalls:
Each detail helps us understand your vehicle's situation, enabling the fastest, fairest and most accurate cash offer.
For business fleet owners: Bulk fire-damaged vehicle sales are supported. Our team manages complex paperwork, ensuring a seamless experience for both private individuals and companies across South Africa.
